We’ve visited several times with our humans, and the riverside setting makes a lovely backdrop to lunch. There are beautiful walks nearby too, so we recommend combining their eating plans with our sniffing schedule.
Inside, dogs are welcome at selected tables. Some are high tables, which puts dinner even further from dachshund inspection height. Space can feel a little snug, so it’s worth mentioning your canine companions when booking.
The welcome was friendly and the atmosphere calm and relaxed. Water is available on request, and there’s outside seating plus access to the garden within The Swan’s grounds—a welcome opportunity to stretch our little legs.
Our humans particularly enjoyed the Sunday roast, carbonara and fish and chips. Service was good, although they felt the meal was a little costly for what they received. Still, the food and beautiful surroundings make this somewhere they’d happily take a detour to visit.
