Our humans took us to Cliveden, a beautiful place with gardens that deserve a full day of sniffing. Parking was straightforward, so we could get on with the important business of exploring.
Dogs aren’t allowed inside the manor house. Fortunately, our preferred attractions were outside: birds to watch, grass beneath our paws and an impressive collection of smells. Our humans admired the scenery; we investigated it at nose level.
The lakes were beautiful, with lovely walks around them and plenty to discover along the way. This is somewhere to take your time rather than squeeze in a quick lap. Pack a day’s worth of enthusiasm—and whatever supplies your humans require.
We met plenty of other dogs and saw lots of children enjoying themselves, which made it a lively, fun outing. There was even an ice cream van. A promising development that certainly deserved our humans’ attention.
Admission is a little more costly without National Trust membership, but our humans felt the visit was worthwhile. We agree: beautiful grounds, lovely walks and enough sniffing to keep two dachshunds happily occupied for the whole day.
Silver Paw: worth a detour for a beautiful day outside, with plenty to explore—although some areas remain humans-only.
